One of the best things about getting along with your partner’s family is knowing that you’ll be treated like family. Having a considerate and understanding mother-in-law would definitely contribute to a healthy and happy marriage.

Unfortunately for this Malaysian, it seems like things aren’t going as well for her. Just recently, a woman has shared her problem that she’s encountered with her mother-in-law. In her post she said,

“My mother-in-law and father-in-law have gone through a divorce and now she lives alone. She has mentioned that she’s feeling bored and would often take turns staying at her children’s houses. ”

She then mentioned that her mother-in-law loves staying at her place, and she thinks it’s because her husband is the type that would listen to her. She figured that since her mother-in-law doesn’t stay here long term, they agreed to give her a small room since she’s sleeping alone.

Following that, her mother-in-law complained that there’s no adjoined toilet in her room and every time she needs to use the toilet, she needs to walk out of her room. She then said that her mother-in-law requested to stay in her master bedroom instead.

“I told her politely that I don’t think that’s possible as it’s the room I share with my husband. But she was so ignorant that she just disregarded what I said.

When I came home from work the next day, I could see my bedsheets messed up. I cleaned and tidied it before I left and I was sure that she has slept on our bed”, she added.

She then ended the post saying that she’s thankful for her husband as he spoke to his mother about it. Unfortunately, her mother-in-law got mad at them and left the house after her husband confronted her.

Do you think she should’ve let her mother-in-law take her room whenever she visits? Or did her husband make the right move and protected his wife? Let us know in the comments below.
