A Malaysian musician believes that the stroke he endured just last month (July 2025) may have been caused by the 7 durians he devoured all by himself.

According to a report by Harian Metro, the musician, 50-year-old Mohd Shah Rosli, who is known as Dino from the group Nico G, shared that he had to stay strong to endure the stroke that’s affecting the right side of his body.

“Before having the stroke about a month ago, I actually ate 7 durians by myself in just a day. The next day, while working, I suddenly collapsed. I really like eating durians, and whenever it’s durian season, I will definitely buy some to eat,”

“So, when I had the stroke, I did not rule out the possibility that it may have had something to do with my diet. I also like eating sweet things. In fact, after being taken to the doctor, even when I was speaking, my mouth still smelled of durian,” he said.

Not just the durians?

Dino further explained that durians may not have been the only contributing factor to his stroke, as he has also been a heavy smoker since he was young.
