When one is in a deep need for a quick pick-me-up, coffee will almost always do the trick for most adults. It’s no wonder why the commercialisation of caffeine-based products continue to skyrocket year after year. However, do we normally take the time to think to ourselves, what really are the lengths coffee makers go through to produce a visual satisfying and tasty conception?
A coffee shop located in Kuala Terengganu called Kuwa Coffee has been making waves online after their staff decided to pursue a challenge that truly tested their design skills. In a clip shared to their TikTok page @kuwabrew, multiple employees attempted to do the Latte Art Challenge, where they had to design a pattern on the surface of a latte drink using microfoam.
There was just one catch – they needed to do it while blindfolded.
Starting with the leader of the pack, the manager of Kuwa Coffee was able to create a pretty decent design for her latte, with the foam resembling a legitimate flower. However, it all seemed to go downhill from there, as the chef of the locale simply poured most of the foam into the cup without a specific method in mind.
Nevertheless, one kitchen crew member and a couple of baristas gave it their best shot, though the outcome of their art designs simply resembled that of white blobs floating in the cups.
“So, who is the winner? No one!” jokingly wrote the page in a caption across the clip.
Garnering a wide response online, many users commented on how sporting each of the employees were to try this challenge, though they differed in opinion over there being no winner.
By a wide margin, various commenters were in agreement that the manager of Kuwa Coffee took the cake for best latte art design.
“After this, the manager can say that she’s able to do this with her eyes closed – literally!” jokingly wrote one user.
