Recently, the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games came to a close and Malaysia ranked at number 74. But, there’s another worldwide phenomenon (or phenomemenon) that is now taking place, with Malaysia closing in on the top spot!

In a meme-related attempt to create the ‘Catlympics’ (or is it the Clicklympics?), POPCAT is an online clicking game created by netizens named Josh, Ed and Freddy.

The game requires players to basically click on any button on their device, or just click on the cat, and it calculates the overall clicks for each respective country, and Malaysia is now in 10th place with 826,180,285 clicks and counting.

Yes, you read that right, folks. All you have to do is click on the cat and it goes ‘pop’, in what may very well be one of the most adorable memes out there.

Taking the number one spot, for now, is Taiwan with 6,527,201,537 clicks, and Finland following closely behind with 5,399,009,712 clicks.

This seemingly simple game has so far garnered over 33,512,201,112 clicks and counting.

If you’re keen on contributing to Malaysia’s existing tally, here’s a pro tip!

You can use all ten fingers to click multiple buttons on your keyboard, which garners at least 10 clicks at one go!

So, if the Olympics wasn’t really your thing, perhaps the ‘Catlympics’ (or Clicklympics – it’s really your choice here) could be.

Let’s get clicking and who knows, Malaysia might just have this in the bag.

What do you think about this? Let us know in the comment section.
