Pfizer Vaccine Arrives In M’sia, PM & Health DG To Be Vaccinated First on 24 Feb

The Covid-19 Pfizer-BioNTech has arrived in Malaysia at 10am today at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) via the MH604 flight operated by MABkargo Sdn. Bhd. (MASKargo).

According to the Ministry of Health, Malaysia’s National Covid-19 Immunization Program will begin this Wednesday (24 February 2021). Prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Bin Haji Mohd Yassin and Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah will be the first to get vaccinated along with the frontliners.

A total of 312,390 doses of the vaccine was flown on a Passenger-to-Cargo (P2C) flight using an Airbus 330-300 aircraft.

Minister of Health Dato ’Sri Dr Adham Baba, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Khairy Jamaluddin, YB Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Ir. Dr Wee Ka Siong, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health Dato Mohd Shafiq Abdullah, Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah and top officials from MOH, MOSTI and MOT were all present to welcome the arrival of the vaccine.

As of 12.45pm today (21 February 2021), the police of OCPD Petaling Jaya has confirmed that the Covid-19 vaccine has safely arrived at DHL Subang for storage, the delivery has also gone well.

Health-Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also ensured that the quality, safety and effectiveness of the vaccine will be constantly monitored and has been researched via regulatory bodies for the safety and health of all Malaysians.
