A heartbreaking incident recently came to light after Malaysian philanthropist Kuan Chee Heng, better known as Uncle Kentang, was approached by a man seeking urgent help.
Taking to Facebook, Uncle Kentang recalled how the elderly man reached out to him after his 78-year-old wife passed away on the night of 28 May.

A heartbreaking plea for help
While assisting the man with the death verification process, Kuan Chee Heng shared that the grieving husband humbly opened up about the struggles he was facing, revealing that he simply could not afford his late wife’s cremation.
“My wife, Too Moi, has passed away. I don’t even have money for a haircut. How am I supposed to afford her cremation and give her a proper farewell? I’m sorry, my wife. I love you, but I cannot provide you with a decent funeral. I am so sorry, wife,” the man said.
Due to his financial difficulties, the man also asked Uncle Kentang for help in scattering his wife’s ashes into the open sea.
