A man sparked outrage online after he was spotted having a meal at a halal-certified chicken rice restaurant in Kajang, Selangor, with an alcoholic beverage in hand.

A post on Threads claimed the man casually walked into the popular restaurant while carrying a can of beer.

The man requested a glass from the eatery for the beer he brought

To make matters worse, he allegedly even asked the staff for a glass, poured the beer himself, and drank it inside the restaurant.

According to @sajanaksharestory, the restaurant staff had already advised the man politely and respectfully, but he scolded them in return.

Security personnel were also called to address the situation, but the man allegedly brushed it off by giving the excuse of “1Malaysia.”

“The staff did approach him and spoke nicely, but he scolded them. The staff even called security. Security came and informed the guy, too, but he was stubborn and kept scolding. Then he kept saying, ‘We are 1Malaysia’. The staff eventually threw away the glass.”

“Can someone tell me which outlet this is? The restaurant has a halal certificate, so it will surely be temporarily shut down. The staff weren’t alert. I pity the owner of the outlet.”

“He’s been living in Malaysia for a long time, so he should know common sense. There are plenty of other non-halal eateries he can go to.”
