DAP veteran, Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang, recently caused controversy after telling Malaysian students in the United Kingdom, that there are “no restrictions in the Constitution for non-Malays to become Prime Minister” of Malaysia. This is in line with his ‘Malaysian Dream’ of not having to wait 230 year to see a non-Malay take on the mantle.

Following this, he had to appear at the Sea Park Police Station in SS2, Petaling Jaya, to provide explanations to the Classified Criminal Investigation Unit (USJT) of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) n regards to his statement.

Now, Machang MP, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal, took to his Facebook page to call for Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) to amend the Constitution to only allow Malays of Islamic faith to become Prime Minister in Malaysia.

Constitution 1

He wrote, “Anwar needs to ‘kill’ Kit Siang’s delirium! Lim Kit Siang’s statement that the ‘Malaysian Constitution does not prevent a non-Malay from becoming Prime Minister’ caused various concerns among the Malays who are the majority race in this country.”

“The ‘Malaysian Dream’, or more precisely the ‘Malaysian Delusion’, version of this DAP leader seems to have killed the soul and spirit of the establishment of the Federation of Malaysia which places the aspect of racial unity based on respect for the social contract, the will of the Malay Kings and the ‘unwritten consensus’ among others.”

He went on to explain that the amendment to the Constitution may lead Malay people to have more faith in the ‘Mixed’ Government.

Constitution 2

“So, my suggestion to YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim is that this is the best time, with the 2/3 majority as advertised, to amend the Federal Constitution so that only a Muslim Malay can become the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Perhaps, in this way, to a certain extent, the support of the Malays in this country can be restored to the Mixed Government he leads instead of making a show of sandals, songkoks, kissing a keris (dagger) or using language dramatically.”

“This is the time to turn off the delusion of this DAP leader who has been delirious for decades and sold a nightmare to the Malays and the indigenous people who spearheaded the struggle for independence of the homeland with blood and tears against the colonizers for hundreds of years,” he added.

It is safe to say that many didn’t support his suggestion as it diminishes the rights of Sabah and Sarawakians who are also categorised as Bumiputeras.
