Muhyiddin was accused of posting defamatory statements

Guan Eng filed a lawsuit on March 27 last year, accusing Muhyiddin of posting defamatory statements on Facebook about him regarding the issue on March 9, 11, and 12, 2023.

Sinar Harian reported how the former Chief Minister of Penang also claimed that the statement implied he had abused his position and power by granting authority or instructing the Inland Revenue Board to impose taxes and penalties on the Albukhary Foundation.

Meanwhile, The Edge Malaysia reported that he claimed the statements made it seem like he was racist and purposely going after the Islamic organisation.
