A condominium unit on Jalan San Peng, Kuala Lumpur, was destroyed in a fire that occurred on Tuesday night (January 28).

In response, 24 firefighters from the Jalan Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) and Pudu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), along with their machinery, were rushed to the scene.

“According to the Senior Operations Commander, PKPgB Mohd. Suhaimi Mohd. Razali, upon arrival at the location of the fire, a house on the 22nd floor (of a condominium building) was 100% destroyed,”

“The extinguishing operation used ‘offensive’ and ‘defensive’ methods to control the fire from spreading to other parts (of the building)” they explained.

The fire was completely extinguished at 11:27pm.

“This incident did not involve any victims, while the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the forensic unit,” they added.

Before this, videos of this incident were circulating online, with many speculating that the cause of the fire could be fireworks as fireworks were apparently seen and heard popping off from the balcony of the unit in flames.
