A heartbreaking incident has come to light after a mother from Kedah recalled the moment she was left with the difficult decision of having her own sons arrested.

The woman expressed her heartache after saying she could no longer “bear the suffering” and had to call on the authorities to arrest her drug-addicted sons.

Kedah mum hopes the decision will turn her sons’ lives around

According to the Kuala Muda District National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK), representatives had visited and provided assistance to the family’s home in Sungai Petani.

Hoping her sons would have a chance to turn their lives around, the woman has since given the authorities the green light to place them in a rehabilitation centre.

“As a mother, I should not feel tired of raising children like this, but as an ordinary human being, I am unable to bear the suffering I have endured until now, from one child to another,” the post read.

“That’s the best way”

The woman also reflected on her journey as a mother, saying she has never given up on her children and will continue praying that both of them will one day reflect on the choices they have made.

“Perhaps I am seen as a cruel mother because I once asked the authorities to arrest and place my child in a rehabilitation centre, but that was the best way, at least to give them a chance for some positive change. Those who do not have children involved in drugs will not understand,” the post added.

Meanwhile, AADK has affirmed that it shares this responsibility and that they work together to help one another.
