On 10 July, the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) confirmed the existence of the Titah Adendum, believed to be a decree from the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, which allows former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.

Najib has been serving his sentence at Kajang Prison since 23 August 2022, after being found guilty of misappropriating RM42 million from SRC International Sdn Bhd. He filed for a Royal Pardon shortly after, on 2 September 2022.

Najib Razak will remain in jail to serve his sentence

In a recent development, the Kuala Lumpur High Court dismissed Najib’s application to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under house arrest.

According to Harian Metro, Judge Alice Loke Yee Ching considered the arguments and delivered her judgment over nearly an hour.

With the High Court’s ruling, the former Prime Minister will continue serving the remainder of his prison sentence at Kajang Prison until the full term is completed.
