While many drivers may not be aware of this feature in their vehicles, third brake lights are essential for their safety as they navigate through roads across the country. Usually located inside the back window of one’s car, its installation and use is just as necessary as every other light in a car.

In a recent TikTok shared by the Road Transportation Department (JPJ) of Pahang to their page @jpjpahang, officials who conducted an inspection of these lights at Jalan Tanjung Lumpur discovered that a number of road users do not have these lights functioning in their vehicles.

Explaining its importance to the public, the caption of the video stated that those who do not have a third brake light are at a higher risk of being hit by other vehicles on the road, as it distinguishes the brake light from the night light.

“Did you know that the third brake light is very important, especially during the rainy season or at night? It’s purpose is so that other road users behind can see your vehicle in front when you hit the break,” read a portion of the caption.

Providing various examples in their TikTok clip, police officers displayed what the brake lights look like even when it is not activated for both cars and motorcycles. The official page also stated that officers will continue to take strict action against drivers who do not comply with these road laws and regulations.

??????? ????? ???? ?????? ???? ???????? ! . . #jpjpahang #squadjpj#skuadjpj #jpjmalaysia #inforoadblock
