Videos have been going viral online, showcasing an explosive dispute among 2 neighbours at an apartment building in Johor Bahru.

In the videos shared by MYNEWSHUB, a man can be seen outside the apartment unit of his neighbour with a woman who was recording them. The man could be seen using a huge, stick-like object to bang on and poke through the front grill of the neighbour’s apartment.

Fight 1

Both the Chinese man and the woman, and the Indian family inside the apartment were also in an intense screaming match with each other. At one point, the man with the stick even picks up the shoe rack that was outside the apartment unit and threw it against the unit’s grill.

Fight 2

The neighbours inside the unit, on the other hand, had thrown water on the man and eventually, a man from the Indian family inside the apartment opened the grill to physically fight the Chinese man, throwing punches.

It is believed that the 2 parties were fighting over noise coming from the family’s apartment. Other neighbours were also seen trying to deescalate the situation.

According to a report by Kosmo, the Johor Bahru Utara police have since received 2 reports in regards to the incident.

North Johor Bahru District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Balveer Singh Mahindar Singh shared that the incident took place last Friday (July 14) and 2 individuals involved in the incident made their reports on the same day.

Fight 3

“The police have taken statements from parties involved and independent witnesses who are residents of the apartment to assist with the investigation,” he said.

He has since also urged the community not to sensationalise the issue, and to be rational and solve problems without performing reckless acts that are against the law.

Anyone with information on this case can contact investigating officer Inspector Shazril Salim at 016-3425316.
