The live conferences by the health Director-General and the Minister of Defence are back to a daily occurrence.

In the Minister of Defence’s live conference on 19 October, he has said that the government is mulling the implementation of EMCO in Selangor due to the rise in Covid-19 cases there. Datuk Seri Ismail Yaakob has said that another thing they can do is to implement stricter SOPs in selected areas to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

However, the minister said that the outcome depends on the Ministry of health and other concerning ministries as this proposal needs to be looked at from all aspects.

“If EMCO is implemented, everyone will not be allowed to go out of the house. Food will be sent to the house and economic activities will need to be stopped.”

He continues on and says that it is easy for movement to be controlled but there are many other things to take into consideration. The most important thing that we need to think about is those people who have to depend on daily wages.

“We will have a discussion and make a decision in the nearest time. But as for this time, we will continue with the CMCO.”

What are your thoughts on the implementation of EMCO? Let us know!
