A socialite from Jakarta, Indonesia has taken Covid-19 precautionary measures to a whole new level, as he reportedly booked an entire airplane for a trip to Bali in order to protect himself and his wife from Covid-19.

Richard Muljadi, a famous Indonesian socialite posted a series of stories on his Instagram account on 4 January, showcasing himself sitting in an empty flight, as reported by The Indian Express.

“After I’d book(ed) as many seats as possible, it was still cheaper than chartering a PJ (private jet). That’s the trick fellas. #LIFEHACKS”, wrote a caption from one of his stories.

He also shared how he and his wife were “super-paranoid” about getting infected by the Covid-19 virus. Therefore, they went as far as booking an entire flight to avoid travelling with other passengers who might be carrying the virus.

However, the airline company that they used revealed some information that contradicted some of his claims.

Lion Air Group, which operates Batik Air confirmed that both were on the flight ID-6502 from Jakarta to Denpasar, on the 5 January. However, the airline said that Muljadi’s only has one booking code, which contains two passengers, unlike what he claimed in his stories. It was also unclear as to whether he purchased other tickets in a separate booking.

As reported, if he had actually booked the entire flight, he would have to spend approximately US$7,895 (IDR110 million), which has a capacity for 12 business-class seats and 150 economy-class seats. However, due to how he publicly displays his wealthy lifestyle and spending on social media, the chances of him booking out the entire flight isn’t beyond the realm of possibility.

How far would you go to safeguard yourself from Covid-19?
