Sharing his speech in the Dewan Rakyat, Saifuddin wrote, “Today, I am responding to the terrible slander about the 1.2 million Chinese tourists who entered Malaysia and did not leave.”

“As of today, Chinese citizens who hold social visit passes and have not left are 84,817 out of a total of 8,491,653 who have entered since January 2018.”

He also explained that this matter was raised in Parliament around 2022, and the Minister of Home Affairs at that time, YB Dato’ Seri Hamzah bin Zainudin, who is the Member of Parliament for Larut, issued a statement to debunk this theory that there are over a million Chinese tourists staying back in Malaysia.

“I hope that the slander about the 1.2 million Chinese tourists not leaving will stop. This issue plays on the sentiment of 3R, which should not happen and can interfere with security in the country.”
