A 2-year-old boy was found unattended in front of a restaurant in Raub, Pahang, yesterday afternoon (1 December). Thankfully, a Good Samaritan brought him to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), who kept him safe until his parents arrived to retrieve him.

The Raub District Police took to their Facebook page to share how the toddler, who the Good Samaritan found, had accidentally been left behind at the restaurant parking lot by his family members, who were driving back to Johor Bahru in 2 vehicles.

The boy was seen wandering around a parking lot

They wrote, “A 2-year-old boy was found unattended in front of Azmi Stim Restaurant in Raub, Pahang. The child was found by a Malay man who saw the child wandering around in the parking lot at Azmi Stim Restaurant, Raub. The Malay man waited for about 45 minutes, but no family members came. Then, the child was taken to the Raub Police Station.”

“The police managed to contact the child’s family, and they arrived at the Raub Police Station at 4pm to pick up the child. The Raub Police Station Chief interviewed the parents of the child, who had boarded 2 vehicles from Johor Bahru on 30 November 2025, to Tersan, Dong (Pahang). After completing their business, on 1 December 2025, at 12pm, they stopped to eat at the Azmi Stim Restaurant, Raub.”

After having lunch, the family continued on their journey back to Johor Bahru, thinking that the little boy was in one of the 2 vehicles. Unfortunately, they realised that this wasn’t the case when they reached Kuala Lumpur.

“Upon arriving in Kuala Lumpur, the child’s mother contacted her sister, who was in another vehicle, and asked about the whereabouts of her child, thinking that her child was with her sister,”

“There was a misunderstanding while getting into the cars before leaving. Only then did the child’s parents realise their child was left behind at Azmi Stim Restaurant, Raub,” they added.

The parents then contacted the eatery, which informed them that their child had been handed over to the Raub Police Station.

The police have since advised the public to always be vigilant and more sensitive to children and the environment, so that no unwanted incidents occur.
