A heartbreaking sight plagued the Wakaf Che Yeh night market in Kelantan where an elderly man was abandoned in a state of neglect for the past 2 weeks.
What is more heartbreaking is the fact that the elderly man was seen lying half-naked on a mattress covered in excrement.
According to a report by Harian Metro, a trader shared that the elderly man is believed to have been abandoned by an unknown individual more than 2 weeks ago.
He added that the person also left behind a thin mattress as a bed for the elderly man who can only lie down.
“As a result of being left for a long time, the mattress has been filled with excrement as the man cannot move. Me and the other traders can only give him food and can’t do anything because we don’t know him. Due to being abandoned for a while, his mattress is full of feces,”
“This incident has made the market’s customers uncomfortable because the smell is not pleasant. The school holidays have also started so people’s visits to this market will increase compared to before,” he said.
He has also made reports to several parties to help the elderly man, but so far no action has been taken.
We genuinely hope that someone helps the elderly man and that the person who abandoned him faces the consequences for their cruel actions.
