Former Education Minister, Dr Maszlee Malik, is getting ‘schooled’ by Malaysians after calling for the general public to condemn US President Donald Trump’s military strike on Venezuela that led to the capture of the country’s leader, Nicolás Maduro.

Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) took to its Facebook page to showcase Dr Maszlee Malik protesting Donald Trump’s move, calling it a violation of the rights of the Venezuelan people, while chanting “Free, free, Venezuela! Down, down, Donald Trump!“.

In the caption, Parti Sosialis Malaysia wrote, “Down, down, Donald Trump! Maszlee Malik clarifies why Malaysian youths need to stand with the people of Venezuela!”

In the video showcased, Dr Maszlee Malik addressed protestors lighting candles in support of the Venezuelan people.

“If we can tolerate what’s happening in Venezuela, we are jeopardising the future of our own children, the future of the world. If we can allow the United Satans of America to do what they’re doing today, to do what they’re doing in Venezuela, we are giving the future of our children to all those imperialists, to all those greedy people,”

“We cannot allow this to happen. Since 7 October, since the genocide of Gaza, we have seen that international law has no meaning. We have seen that the UN (United Nations) has no meaning. Now, the future of the world is in the hands of the free people of the world,” he said.

“Venezuelans are happy”

Malaysians flooded the comment section to point out that Venezuelans are happy that Nicolás Maduro was captured, and questioned why the former Minister is busying himself with foreign issues when many locals require help.

“The Venezuelan people are happy but busybody Malaysians, on the other hand, are showing their stupidity on the streets.”

“Listen to the stories of the Venezuelan people, they are celebrating the capture of their leader.”

“Venezuelans are happy that Maduro was captured because they can’t stand living under a regime, yet you are busy protesting.”

“It’s better to prioritise your own country. There are many who need help and support.”

“Being a busybody with (the issues) of other countries. Why not yell ‘Free, free Malaysia’, so that prices of things go down and salaries increase?”

WORLD OF BUZZ has reached out to PSM and Dr Maszlee Malik for comment, but has yet to receive a response.
