Despite the new, giant flag that is now displayed outside the viral Penang hardware store, UMNO Youth Chief Dr Akmal Saleh is STILL going to visit the place, but this time, for a different reason.

Yesterday (August 12), DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke Siew Fook said that DAP had handed out a new giant Jalur Gemilang to the hardware store owner, and slammed certain parties pressuring the authorities to take action against the store owner, who apologised and admitted that the blunder was not intentional.

On the same day, the UMNO Youth Chief responded to Anthony’s statement and thanked the minister for handing out the giant Malaysian flag to the store owner. In his video statement, Akmal said, with the presence of the new flag, the “Jalur Gemilang hoisting” class is now cancelled, but his presence is not.

Akmal will be visiting the store, regardless, to make sure that Loke gets the Jalur Gemilang right.

The time and date had been set, and Akmal will be at the hardware store on Thursday (August 14) by 6 PM to check on the Malaysian flag. He also acknowledged the news that there will be a group of people from DAP welcoming him there, and said that he is eager to see the “welcoming committee members.”

“Since they will be welcoming me, I will attend. I heard they’ll bring flags too, and so will we. We’ll distribute the flags to the people to spread awareness about the matter.”‘

Do you think Akmal will make it to the hardware store in Penang?
