UMNO Youth Chief Dr. Akmal Saleh is well aware of yet another upside-down Jalur Gemilang incident in Penang, involving a hardware store owner. Akmal announced that he will personally visit the store owner on Monday (August 11) to “educate” him.

Akmal described the incident as an insult to all Malaysians and called the store owner rude for waving the Malaysian flag upside down.

In a Facebook video posted yesterday (August 9), Akmal invited all Malaysians to join him on his visit to the hardware store in Penang. Those who wish to participate are encouraged to bring along a Jalur Gemilang. Akmal stated that he intends to teach the store owner how to properly hoist the national flag.

The UMNO Youth Chief said he is expected to arrive at the store at 12:30 pm on Monday, and in his video, he left a direct message for the store owner:

“Apek, you just wait. I’m coming to teach you how to properly hoist a Jalur Gemilang.”

In another video, Akmal urged Malaysians to pressure the government to take strict action against those who mishandle the Malaysian flag. He emphasised that a mere apology is not enough in such cases, which he considers an insult to the nation.

He added that UMNO Youth will lodge a police report regarding the incident, hoping that the store owner will be arrested and punished.

“If the dignity of the country is being stepped on and we’re not doing anything, then it’s an insult to call ourselves Malaysians!”

What do you think of Akmal’s “lesson plan?”
