Ever wondered what happens to your egg trays after you throw them in the trash instead of recycling or composting them? They usually end up in a landfill but that doesn’t bring any of us much benefit.

Due to the impact Covid-19 has had on paper mills, paper egg trays are now few and far between. Hence, businesses have been advised to recycle their egg trays and encourage their customers to do the same, as reported by Nanyang Daily.

One such business is the NSK hypermarket who is collecting recyclable egg trays from customers and rewarding them with RM5. However, customers are only eligible to obtain money for every 100 trays to recycle. So if you and your household are bulk egg buyers, it’s time to trade those trays in!

A netizen, known as Faye Chen, took to her Facebook to verify that NSK was giving out money for recyclable egg trays. All you have to do is collect your egg trays and bring them to the person in charge at the counter. They’ll immediately exchange your trays with cash.

If you think about it, this method saves waste AND you earn some money. So think twice before you throw your egg tray away! What do you guys think about this?
