“Do you feel superior?” – Public Confronts Man Who Assaulted Boys with Helmet at Sabah Tahfiz School

A video went viral recently, showing a man assaulting a group of boys believed to be students of a tahfiz school in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

As we reported, the man was seen wearing the tahfiz school t-shirt while scolding the students and hitting them with his helmet.

A group of men confronted the man at the tahfiz school

The video has sparked outrage among netizens and the public, with some even visiting the tahfiz school to confront the man.

In a video shared by @update11111, the man, who is believed to be an ustaz at the tahfiz school, is seen being confronted about his actions by a group of men. One of the men asked,

“Do you feel superior for hitting those kids that way?”

In response, the man admitted that his actions were unacceptable and added that he had since filed a police report.

Police have since detained a male suspect

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has issued a statement confirming that it has received a police report regarding the incident.

According to Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief ACP Kasim Bin Muda, the incident occurred on 14 December at around 11:55 PM at a business premise and involved a group of religious school students.

He added that the police have since detained an adult male suspect to assist with the investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code and Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.

“The public is advised not to speculate and to respect the privacy of everyone involved. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to come forward and assist the investigation by contacting the nearest police station.”
