Although he was given a day to rest yesterday (9 May), Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah was still doing Covid-19 related updates on his social media platforms. One that caught the eyes of many is his appreciation post for our front-liners who went above and beyond to assist those in need without the boundaries of religion and race.

He directed his thanks towards the Health Inspector Shahir Razali and Mastura Maznor whom he has hailed as heroes, as they really work closely to the Health Ministry’s slogan ‘Kami Sedia Membantu‘ or ‘We’re Ready to Help’. In his post, he elaborated,

“Treating human life delicately without racial or religious boundaries. Our health inspector Shahir Razali carrying this elderly Chinese Aunty to the centre for covid testing. Fasting in ramadhan & serving the people in need while on full PPE suits, indeed you guys are our heroes‬. Shahir Razak and Mastura Maznor, you internalised our MOH’s tagline “We are ready to serve”. Very proud of you both and thank you.”

Let’s take a moment to really think of what our front-liners have gone through in order to deal with the pandemic. As a responsible citizen, we do need to make certain sacrifices to ensure we don’t put them in unnecessary stress. If there’s nothing urgent, please stay home ok?
