A group of cyclists are claiming that a RapidKL bus driver attempted to run them off the road in Bestari Jaya, Selangor.

One of the cyclists, spaceramenn, took to his TikTok account to share how the bus driver had apparently tried to run the group of over 30 cyclists off the road and then tried to fight them after pulling over shortly after.

He wrote, “On Sunday (6 July), 9:35am at Bestari Jaya. This was us this morning, riding on the left lane, a few seconds before a dangerous driver approached us. We are around 30-plus cyclists.”

“Then came this RapidKL bus that was purposefully coming towards the left side and squeezing by us by inches. He almost hit our cyclists while the right lane was empty. He could’ve just moved to the right lane for a few seconds.”

A fight ensued

After squeezing past the cyclists, the bus driver could be seen stopping the bus by the side of the road before getting down and attempting to kick one of the cyclists.

The group of cyclists allegedly had to stop as the driver apparently tried to fight some of them.

“Chaos erupted. He was trying to fight with our fellow cyclists, so we made a U-turn.”

However, considering there was a Road Transport Department (JPJ) branch right across the road, the fight didn’t last long as an officer soon appeared.

“After he acknowledged the JPJ officer, he no longer acted like a gangster.”

The cyclist also alleged that the bus driver had attempted to run the group of cyclists over earlier the same day.

In the end, the JPJ officer managed to de-escalate the situation, and both parties were allowed to be on their way. The JPJ officer also told the group of cyclists to ensure that they stayed on the left side of the road, to which they responded that they were.

WORLD OF BUZZ has since reached out to RapidKL for comment but has yet to hear back.
