We all know Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The talented baby-faced actor who made us empathise with Tom in 500 Days of Summer and transfixed us as Detective John Blake a.k.a “Robin” in The Dark Knight Rises.

Even if you’re completely unaware of this actor, it’s time you do now! The actor put a Facebook post yesterday, August 11 calling Malaysians to collaborate on a project he’s working on with Netflix.

What's up, Malaysia? Got a project I'd love to collaborate with you on…I'm looking for musicians, singers, rappers,…

Posted by Joseph Gordon-Levitt on Selasa, 11 Ogos 2020

The project is titled Project Power, where Joseph Gordon_levitt wants to create a song together with everybody from all over the world which asks the simple question, “What is your power?”

Hence, they’re calling out all musicians, singers, rappers, and artists of all kinds to think about their specific power and produce eight to 16 bars of your very best to add to their song.

“If you’re a singer, just sing some kind of melody or beat that goes along with the beat. If you like to make music, we want to add on to this basic beat, it could be of any genre!”

Now besides getting your art recognised, since  Netflix is behind the project, you would also get paid for this. Interested? You can check out and add your art here.

Now, if you’re someone who isn’t really musically gifted but still would want to contribute to this inspiring project, fret not, Joseph’s got your back!

He also made an interesting proposition for Malay speakers to record themselves saying ONE word out loud in Malay for the project.

Anyone here speak Malay? If so, I'm looking for you :)I need someone to record themselves reading one word out loud in Malay for a project. Just one word. Info here: https://hitrecord.app.link/6aMAZNkvt8

In case you’re wondering, the word is “Poetry” or “Puisi” in Malay. If you plan to impress Joseph Gordon-Lewitt with your Malay prowess, click here to contribute.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is indeed the gift that keeps on giving. Not content with musicians, rappers and artists, he’s also calling writers to contribute to his project.

Looking for people from Malaysia who like to write… know anyone?Take a look at this photo, and then write one line…

You will have to write in a one-liner about what the astronaut is thinking. Your line can either be in English or Malay.

Do you plan to lend your voice to this project? Let us know in the comments section!
