Yes, we are back again with another series of ‘My boss gives me hell’, but this time, the subject is up for debate.

This time around, an employee exposed the boss of their company who sent a message in their company’s WhatsApp group, requesting all of the employees to enable their ‘last seen’ and ‘read receipts’ as the boss would like to ensure that all employees have seen his message. Yes, meaning no blue ticks.

The screenshot was posted in a Facebook group, Boom Go Employee, after a netizen shared it with the group to talk about his experience.

Blue Tick

In the screenshot, the boss wrote “Dear team, please turn on ‘last seen’ and ‘read receipt’ (blue tick) settings. I want to make sure all of you read my message in the group. Thanks”.

Employees responded by saying “okay” as they should listen to their boss’s demands.

However, when the screenshot started circulating on the Facebook group, many found the boss’s request ridiculous as it is invading the privacy of the employees.

As mentioned in the beginning, this subject is debatable.

After all, the boss did mention that his intention is just to ensure that everyone takes note of his messages.

Some netizens begged to differ by saying that there are other ways to ensure that the employees did read the messages without having to turn on the ‘last seen’ settings, which is to reply with the ever so famous ‘noted’.

Take a look at some of the other netizens’ comments on this matter.
