In this current climate, no one is safe from the Covid-19 virus, which is why it is important that we ensure to adhere to the standard operating procedures set in place by the authorities.

One employee of Bank Maumalat at their Johor Bahru office has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus, as according to Bernama. As a precaution, they’ve asked all their employees from the Johor Bahru branch who have come in direct contact with the patient to proceed with self-quarantine for 14 days.

“Contact tracing is being implemented in accordance with the guidelines by the Ministry of Health. Sanitisation and cleaning procedures are also taking place at two of their premises at Kebun Teh Commercial City in Johor Bahru,” they wrote in a statement.

Just a week before, they confirmed that five employees from their Kota Kinabalu branch tested positive for the Covid-19 virus and that one of them has since recovered.

“Currently, five employees, including the latest case from Johor Bahru, are in the care of government hospitals,” they added.

Nevertheless, they’ve assured the general public that they’re doing everything they’re supposed to do in order to deal with the issue, including altering the operation hours of certain branches. Selected Bank Muamalat branches will now operate from 9:15am to 3pm.

“Bank Muamalat is taking aggressive steps to care for the safety and health of our customers, staff and community, while ensuring that our important banking services are running smoothly. Bank Muamalat guarantees customers that business is operating as usual with minimal disturbances while we continue to put your safety as our number one priority,” they shared.

We hope that all employees effected with the virus recovers soon.
