Imagine being on a plane that has taken off, only for one of the passengers to start becoming unruly and making threats.

That was the unfortunate and terrifying situation passengers of Malaysia Airlines flight MH122 had to endure after taking off from Sydney, Australia, heading to Kuala Lumpur. The plane then made a U-turn back to Sydney where it sat on the airport tarmac for about 3 hours.

Netizen, Auburn 2144, took to their TikTok account to showcase a news broadcast of the incident which includes footage of the suspect as the situation unfolded.

They wrote, “BREAKING: There’s a major emergency at Sydney Airport tonight – a flight to Malaysia was forced to turn around and land because an unruly passenger was said to be terrifying fellow flyers.”

In the video, a news anchor explained that the suspect, who is a 45-year-old Australian resident, said he was ‘testing Muslims‘ and that it was ‘all a joke‘.

“7 News understands that the man in the centre of all of this is Muhammad Ali Arif, he bought a one-way ticket and had no baggage and has been filmed on board the flight by other passengers saying that he is a slave of Allah,” she said.

They then showed footage from inside the plane where crew members bravely faced the suspect.

“Are you a slave of Allah? Are you? Say it, say it!” the suspect asked one of the crew members.

According to a report by CNA, the suspect had allegedly claimed that he had made threats against the passengers and crew member, and had explosives in his bag pack, which was later discovered to be false.

This incident caused flights from Sydney Airport to be cancelled due to the fear of the potential attack.

He has since been arrested and charged for making a false bomb threat.
