A 32-year-old local man was found dead after allegedly falling into a lake at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus in Subang Jaya, Selangor, on Tuesday (26 May).
The incident reportedly occurred at about 4 PM at a lakeside location in the area. Witnesses who saw the man enter the lake immediately alerted the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), prompting a search-and-rescue operation at the scene.

Police classify case as sudden death
However, after the victim was brought out of the water, he was pronounced dead.
Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said preliminary investigations found no elements of foul play, and the case has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR), as reported by China Press.
He added that authorities are still working to confirm the victim’s full identity.
Victim not affiliated with the university
Meanwhile, Taylor’s University clarified that the individual involved was not connected to the institution.
In a statement issued last night, the university said the incident involved a member of the public near the lake within the vicinity of its Lakeside Campus, and confirmed that the deceased was neither a student nor a staff member of the university.

The institution also stated that it is cooperating with the authorities and providing support to members of the campus community affected by the incident.
At the same time, the public has been urged not to spread unverified information, photographs, or videos related to the case while investigations remain ongoing.
