A 14-year-old boy was placed in a coma following serious injuries to several parts of his body due to being attacked by a pack of stray dogs in Bandar Tasik Puteri, Rawang, on Friday (May 2). He also sustained injuries after falling into a ditch as he was being chased by stray dogs while returning home from the Religious and Fardu Ain (KAFA) class.

According to a report by Kosmo, Mohammad Adeeb Maqiuddin Mohd Zarawi, who is affectionately known as Adeeb, had to be placed in a coma at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Sungai Buloh Hospital after oxygen levels in his body dropped.

Coma 2

“The doctor advised Adeeb to be placed in a coma so that he could get enough rest. Before that, Adeeb had chatted with us, and he asked if he would be here (in the ward) for long, and when he could leave. Yesterday, he chatted with us the most,”

“Now, Adeeb has been placed in a coma, I hope he wakes up soon and recovers as usual. Please pray for Adeeb,” the boy’s father, Mohd Zarawi Manaf shared.

The extent of Adeeb’s injuries

Adeeb’s mother, Noor Azlina Abdul Samad, explained that his injuries were mainly to his internal organs and have been categorised as levels 2 and 4.

Coma

“The most serious level, according to the doctor, is level 5. So, now Adeeb’s liver injury is at level 4, but when he first came in (on Friday), it was at level 5. His kidneys are also now at level 4, his spleen is at level 2,”

“Apart from that, there are scratches on his chin and chest. But, the most serious ones are inside (his body), especially the liver,” she said.

Like her husband, she also called for the public to keep Adeeb in their prayers.

“As a mother, I ask for everyone’s kindness to pray for Adeeb. Maybe, there are prayers that Allah will answer. I hope Adeeb wakes up soon and is as healthy as ever.”
