A 12-year-old girl secretly went out of her dormitory room at a religious school in Sungai Petani, Kedah, recently, because she wanted to watch an illegal motorcycle race.

Her night ended tragically after she was molested and raped by 2 unknown men who brought her to a palm oil plantation.

The suspects are 19 and 20 years old

The girl left her dormitory room at 2 AM to catch up on the race, and she was later approached by 2 unknown men on motorcycles. Both suspects, who are 19 and 20 years old, then brought her to a palm oil plantation, where one of them raped the victim, and the other man molested her.

The victim then returned to her dormitory and told her teacher about her traumatic experience. The latter then called the police to lodge a report.

It didn’t take long for the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in the district to nab both suspects, and according to Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan, Kuala Muda district Police Chief, the police managed to arrest the suspects at 8 PM on the same day.

One of the suspects is unemployed, while the other worked as a lorry driver, reported Berita Harian and Sin Chew.

“The 20-year-old is suspected of raping the victim, while the 19-year-old suspect molested the victim,” Hanyan said.

The matter is currently being investigated under Section 375B of the Penal Code for gang rape, and if found guilty, the suspects will be jailed between 10 and 30 years.
