A video posted by Update11111 on X has been going viral, showing a man throwing insults at Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
According to BERNAMA, the 25-year-old has been arrested in Kelantan for uploading the clip, which was meant to stir public tension and push people to boycott the Madani Aidilfitri Celebration that took place on April 12.
He accused Anwar of planning to fool the public
Bachok District Police Chief Supt Mohamad Ismail Jamaluddin said the video didn’t just have rude language or inappropriate name-calling aimed at Anwar, but also accused him of planning to fool the public during the event.
Police received a report on April 11 and later arrested the suspect. They also seized his phone for investigation.
Mohamad Ismail added that further checks on the suspect’s phone also uncovered pornographic videos and images.
Investigations are still underway
However, investigations into other offences are still ongoing while waiting for a full report from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
The police are also urging the public, especially social media users, not to spread content involving 3R issues (Race, Religion, Royalty) that could disrupt public order.
The case is being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code, Section 223 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, and Section 14 of the Minor Offenses Act 1995.
