NORTHERN

1. Hanoi

As the capital city of Vietnam, Hanoi is one of the most ancient capitals in the world! Making it the perfect place for a cultural excursion where you can find well-preserved colonial buildings, museums and ancient temples. The city itself contains cultural influences from China, France, and Russia and is known for its vibrant nightlife, delicious local cuisine and silks & handicrafts.

What to do in Hanoi:

  • Visit unique monuments such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda & Saint Joseph’s Cathedral.
  • Stroll around the Old Quarter and find 36 streets named after 36 trades, such as Hand Dao (silk & clothing street), Hang Bac (silver street), and even the famous Train Street, where you can see a train speed by a cramped neighbourhood.

You can also take a detour to these beautiful places located just a car ride away from Hanoi:

  • Ha Long Bay: A beautiful limestone island destination, about three hours away by car.
  • Ninh Binh: Known as ‘Halong Bay on land’, it’s verified as a cultural world heritage by UNESCO and also happens to be the filming site of “Kong: Skull Island”. Under two hours away by car.
  • Sapa: Just five hours away by car, it’s located in the mountains making it an ideal trekking destination.
  • Mount Fansipan: Only 15 minutes away by a 6km cable-car-ride. Known as the ‘Roof of Indochina’, it is the highest mountain in Vietnam and Indochina with a 3,143m summit.
