So, you drive a luxury car. Does that grant you the right to do anything you please?

According to reports by Sin Chew and mStar, a waiter recently told a group of Malaysian customers who were enjoying their meal at a restaurant to change tables and give up their seats. The reason?

Another group of regular customers who came in a luxury car had arrived.

The customers thought their table was pre-booked but were shocked to learn the truth.

“We were told that the other group of customers did not make a reservation, to which we told the waiter, it’s not our problem.”

The waiter simply told them that the other group that just arrived were regular customers.

Before the matter escalated, the restaurant manager came and persuaded the customers to change tables, to which they eventually agreed, simply because the manager persuaded them in a good manner and offered free beverages as a token of apology.

But the matter did not end there.

During the process, one of the regular customers spoke rudely to the 1st group of customers and acted superior. Feeling berated, one of the guests who changed tables told the “diva”,

“You didn’t even say thank you after we changed seats. Do you think you can be arrogant just because you drive a luxury car?”

Feeling dissatisfied, he then complained to the manager, who apologised again and said the regular customers who had not made a prior reservation wanted to combine tables. The restaurant had no choice but to politely ask the initial customers to change tables.

Do you think there was any other way to have a win-win situation?
